Osama Bin Killed
I think that osama being killed is a big step in the right direction for the war on terrorism but we still have a long way to go before this will be over, I think this shows how strong and persistant the U.S. is and how we wont stop until we get the job done. when i heard that we had killed osama bin laden i didnt know how to react. because we just killed a man. But then i thought about how he has planned out attacks on the U.S and killed thousands of innocent people. i still dont know exactly how to feel about this because this just flared up the war and it might cause more attacks on the U.S. or make them mad and rally together as one unit. but this is the moment now. if they do nothing. they probably will not do anything for a long time but if they do do something. i dont think they will stop until they feel satisfied and avenged for the killing of osama bin laden. I do feel better about the U.S though because we didnt just give up on trying to find him we kept trying and trying and trying until we finally suceeded but now we have to move onto our next mission and get it done. I think that it is very important that we killed osama bin laden because that shows the power of the us and our army and navy and our entire service. and it shows how if you mess with us we will not stop til we show you we are bigger than you and can squash you like a bug. I think that this was a very big accomplishment for us but i think we all realize that this is just the beginning of the new step. This took the us a long time to do but they kept at it and kept searching and finally found at took osama bin laden out. I think that this will have a very large effect on the next step we make or alkida makes. I think it will be a lot bigger step now that we have taken their leader out. It has been so long since i had heard anything about this and i was playing call of duty when my mom told me about this then i just flipped it over to the news and watched it for about an hour until president obama talked about it. Obama was not excited about it or happy we got him. you could almost see fear in his eyes because he thought that alkida was going to make an attack on us and he has a lot on his mind now so that made me not that excited about it like that. I think the next move is going to be criticle wether we push them or not, because if we dont they could just keep growing and growing until they get strong enough so that they are able to retaliate very strongly

Night and Maus Blog assignment
Night and Maus are very similair but different they both tell the story about the Holocaust but they do it in their own ways and they are not on the same level of seriousness Night is actual people being portrayed and its very graphic and can put images into your head, but Maus is a comic about the Holocaust and even though it is a comic it is still very serious and sad. I do not think it is necesary to read both books i think you only need to read one or the other depending on the maturity of the class or the type of class. I would read night if you are looking for information and maus if you wanted a quick read.Example from each book When they are first starting to be controlled by the nazi's in maus they get moved into the stara salvenick quarter and they dont have much emotion about it and when they recieve their jewish star eli's father says "a yellow star? o well what of it it wont kill us". Night you could read their reactions and tell when they were scared and when they werent scared, but in maus there was either extreme, very plain or yelling at eachother.

Restrepo Blog
The scenes in Restrepo really actually helped me visualize fallen angels better. like when they pumped up the music and started singing together and dancing, they didnt have that in fallen angels but it just showed how they did anything to pass time and they were all close to eachother. Another scene was when one of them i forget who was playing the guitar. this showed how they all learned new skills and got very good at them because there wasnt much to do in the downtime. Also after seeing their base it was not very organized and they didnt take much time on planning the layout of the building. this helped me imagine what the hooch looked like from fallen angels. And when they gathered around in a big circle and talked and it was basically summing up what had happened and what they had to do. Helped see what they looked like in the hooch when they talked. Another was when they shot off the flares for Restrepo it helped show how much emotion was in them, like in fallen angels they would say the prayer right after they had died. Another thing was they captured the area and made Restrepo very fast and it showed how their hooches were made very fast and they were not of great quality. It also showed me when they were just sitting behind sandbags with huge machine guns just like when johnson would set-up a couple sand-bags then sit behind it and light up anything he saw. Another thing was when one of their best men died and it happened so fast, like in fallen angels when gearheart who was a great soldier got hit under the arm and died almost immediately. When you saw all the bombs go off all over the hills and the huge explosions, it showed what they had to go through in fallen angels how mortar strikes were going off all around them. And when they could almost constantly hear choppers or planes overhead and the constant rumbling, in fallen angels it helped me imagine how those choppers would have sounded.
Both of these, fallen angels and the documentery both were eye opening for me, it showed you how emotional war was. when Restrepo died it really hit that team hard. and when brew died it really hit johnson hard and he wouldnt accept that he was dead. They both also showed that it was hard for them to deal with, in the documentary one of the guys even said it was hard for him to get over things and he didnt know how to. and for johnson he couldnt get over brew until they threw a birthday party for him. It showed how their living conditions were no where near what they are here for an average person.

Colin J Siddhartha double PIE paragraph
There are some lessons from Siddhartha that we can definetly apply to our lives today, the one I am going to point out is that we may have to leave some of our friends behind so we can get where we are trying to go. "He has robbed me, yet he has given me something of greater value. He has robbed me of my friend, who believed in me and who now believes in him; he was my shadow and now is Gotama's shadow. But he has given to me Siddhartha, myself."(36) Siddhartha had to leave Govinda behind, in order for him to be able to follow his own path. It was hard for both of them, but they had to do it. In the end it worked out well for the both of them. In my life i didnt really have a choice but i did have to leave one of my friends behind. When i moved from St. Louis i had to leave one of my good friends behind, even though i was really young i can still remember him. I was really little and it was hard for me, it was the first time i experienced that. But eventually it will happen to all of us, whether we need to leave them or we just get seperated. And life continues to go on.
